EDUCATION

Life Fit in partnership with Scottish Football’s key Stakeholders.

Planning for a transition into another career is vital for most footballers in Scotland. Football careers are very unique as they are short careers and players potentially look to retire in their mid 30’s. This is why planning for this transition at an early age is very important.

The aim of Life Fit is to assist and support PFA Scotland and its members to plan for a second career. Whether players are at the end of their playing career and looking for a job, looking to study while still playing, wanting to run a job alongside playing part-time or simply want to investigate their options, Life Fit and PFA Scotland are here to help.

EDUCATION GRANTS

A RESTRICTED FUND FOR PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS

  • LIFE FIT understands the concerns of professional footballers “that no two players will have the same interests or thoughts when it comes to what they want to do next.” and emphasises that for a professional player who may be considering a future outside of the game then it is NEVER too early to start planning for the future.

  • Research has proven that studying or preparing for the future can actually help your football development. Players from across the SPFL are already embarking on their own journey for the future – LIF FIT wishes to support this and encourage restricted grants from partners to assist and grow this benefit for players who are moving on to a next stage in their lives and careers.

  • LIFE FIT WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE AIMS AND TERMS OF THE EDUCATION POLICY WHICH IS DELIVERED BY PFA SCOTLAND.

  • LIFE FIT will continue to seek funding from all sources to support this professional player education policy.

  • ALL GRANTS ARE AWARDED AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF LIFE FIT TRUSTEES.
